Installation Technician

Position Overview: 

The Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of various cabling and components required for the successful execution of system deployment. He/she should be technically adept and comfortable working both alone and in teams.

Primary Essential Job Duties:

  • Set-up, test, calibrate and commission complete A/V systems based on customer requirements to the M3 standards
  • Basic installation tasks such as pulling cable, terminating connectors (copper and fiber), mounting/rigging objects and rack construction
  • Read and follow basic base building and electrical blueprints
  • Follow direction from Lead Technicians
  • Appropriately report any changes or concerns with projects
  • Safety focused
  • Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled
  • Work cooperatively with others.

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic Computer skills
  • Basic installation tasks such as pulling cable, terminating connectors, mounting/rigging objects and rack construction
  • Ability to work in a fast pace culture
  • Travel to various job sites as needed not expected to exceed 40% of time
  • Experience using AV and Electronic hand-tools including but not limited to wire strippers, crimpers and soldering irons
  • Experience using low voltage and basic construction hand-tools including but not limited to snips, punch tool, drills, hammers and screw drivers
  • Ability to be attentive to direction and anticipate job needs
  • Present in a professional manner

Education and Experience:

  • AVIXA AVT training recommended/required within the first year
  • AVIXA CTS Certification preferred
  • BICSI Certification a plus
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of installation experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to bend, squat and kneel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
