Installation Supervisor

Position Overview:  The Installation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the technical installation workforce. This position will support the Operations/Technical Operations and serve as a field change agent to help improve overall communication and project execution and efficiency with Installation Technicians.

Primary Essential Job Duties:

  • Supervise assigned installation staff and manage duties to meet project needs
  • Responsible for their team efficiencies and ensuring that installation completion dates are met
  • Coordinate and manage external activities including all sub-contract work in support of project installation activities
  • Conduct pre-installation site surveys as needed
  • Assign small projects as defined by management to Lead Technicians when no Project Manager is assigned including but not limited to:
    • Manage all types of technical escalations from the field team and work with other M3 departments resolutions
    • Coordinates all efforts to maintain adequate resource coverage, control of the installation budget and high installation standards
    • Conduct quality control visits during and post installation/commissioning and report findings to project team and management
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives including, but not limited to: contractual, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work
  • Assign vehicles to technicians as needed and hold monthly inspections to ensure vehicles meet M3’s vehicle usage standards
  • Be part of the team process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate and train, where appropriate, technicians and demonstrate installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projects and metal fabrication
  • Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled.
  • Work cooperatively with others.

Secondary Job Duties:

  • Mentor and coach Installation Technicians and Lead Technician through their designated learning development plans

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage small to medium projects to completion
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Excellent skills to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Advanced knowledge of signal flow within M3 disciplines
  • Travel to various job sites as needed not expected to exceed 25% of time
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • CTS-I and BICSI preferred
  • Experience in A/V or ICT preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to use computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Be able to pass drug screen and background check
