Assistant Director of the Belmont Data Collaborative

This position is will help lead and facilitate the data literacy development of students on and off campus through the development of curriculum and programs within the disciplines that are the strategic focus of the Belmont Data Collaborative.  They will also manage these interdisciplinary programs independent or in partnership with other colleges, departments, or programs on campus, as well as other internal operations to pertain to the Belmont Data Collaborative and lead the promotion and awareness of data related education at Belmont University.

Essential Functions:
1.      Lead and manage the development of new curriculum-based programs, such as workshops, certificates, undergraduate and graduate programs in data science, data literacy and storytelling, and analytics.

2. Manage the internal operations of the Belmont Data Collaborative that pertain to education and other operations.  (This does not include special external projects.)

3.      Manage and facilitate the promotion of data literacy, fluency, storytelling, and other data related topics within Belmont University (students, faculty, and staff), as well as in the community through promotion, events, and educational opportunities.

4.      Collaborate with departments, colleges, and other groups on campus to identify, develop, and implement educational programs that produce data literate to fluent students, staff, and faculty.

5.      Lead the development of initiatives for data literacy and storytelling that promote within the community.

6.      Work with students, faculty, and staff on opportunities for experiences that development and promote data skills.

7.      Develop and coordinate the creation of content that helps promote and establish Belmont University as a thought leader in data science, data ethics, data storytelling, and the creation of data literate graduates. 

8. Manage the assessment and the development of credentialing for data competencies for students, faculty, and staff at Belmont university.

Preferred: Masters Degree or higher in a field that pertains to the development of curriculum in higher education or in data science or other computer/technology degree.
Preferred: A minimum of 3 years in directing or development of curriculum. This may include a leadership role within a higher education program or as a faculty member within a field that is consistent with data science and analytics.
