About the Role:
As Director of Software Development at Quore, you will direct the development and delivery of our software, including maintaining our existing platforms and creating our next generation platform. You will have a strategic view of Quore and guide the way for your team, the technology it employs and how it interacts with Quore’s other teams. You’ll directly lead developers, designers, QA engineers and team leads. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technology: You’ll ensure we are implementing best practices in technology and development processes.
  • Leadership: You’ll grow and develop your team in their roles in addition to being a key asset to Quore’s leadership team. 
  • Collaboration: You’ll partner with the product team to implement customer impacting improvements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Guide the efforts of multiple development teams to meet and exceed strategic goals.
  • Develop and communicate your team’s vision, strategic roadmap and technical blueprint based on Quore’s goals.
  • Set and manage aggressive delivery goals for your team and execute them quickly, effectively and healthily.
  • Communicate consistently clear, actionable feedback in all directions.
  • Implement plans to develop the skills of managers and developers.
  • Build a culture that rewards success and also learns and grows from strategic failure.


What you’ll need for this position:

  • 5+ years experience building and leading software development teams across different product lines.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders, product teams and stakeholders to create a strategic roadmap and vision.
  • Proven history of building innovative products that delight users.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information sciences/technology or management.
  • Solid understanding of how development teams interact to create best practices across multiple disciplines.
  • Familiarity with multi-level test strategies including unit testing, integration testing, automated UI testing and manual testing.
  • General knowledge of cloud platforms and associated managed services.
  • Experience managing contract development work, both on and off-shore.


It would be a bonus if you had:

  • A master’s degree in management, computer science or information technology
  • Experience employing Amazon Web Services (AWS) to serve software
  • Experience using AWS services for storage, computing and messaging
  • Experience developing software in PHP, NodeJS, VueJS, Kotlin and Swift
