Description
Going Beyond EDR: Cross-layer Detection and Response with XDR
Stealthy attacks take too long to detect, investigate and respond with 68% of attacks taking months or longer to discover and then an average of 69 days to contain an attack (Verizon 2019). How can your security teams act quicker and more effectively to limit the blast radius?
Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is a great place start to detect and respond to attacks but it is limited to just what the endpoint can see. It's like starting a book on chapter 4 you are missing key information about the story. XDR correlates the email activity leading up to the attack and using network telemetry to trace the attack to EDR blind spots like IoT devices, unmanaged laptops, and cloud workloads.
In this session, we'll look at real-world attack scenarios, and how they are detected and investigation with and without the additional telemetry available with XDR.
Presentation by:
Chris Taylor, Director of Product Marketing, Trend Micro
Chris Taylor has worked with Trend Micro's messaging and collaboration security products for 10 years. He has a degree in engineering from California Polytechnic State University and a MBA from Santa Clara University. Throughout his career working at technology companies in Silicon Valley, he has held roles in systems engineering, product management, and product marketing.
