Innovate Fast and Learn to Fail
Everyone talks about innovation and how they are an innovative company but are they really? The same can be said for being agile. Everyone says that they are an agile company but are they really? Where do innovation and agile transformations intersect? Why do the two seem too difficult to get right? Why is everyone so afraid of failure? Taking a leap into a new idea, concept or project can be challenging but there are methods that can be learned from both disruptive innovation practices and agile principals that can make both innovation and agile successful. The talk will begin with agile and where agile seems to be failing in some of the most common implementations. The talk will discuss agile as a business concept and how business can practice agile for its own projects well before engaging IT. Finally, we will discuss how to take innovative ideas and test them using agile principals, see them through POC to prove whether the idea will be successful, needs refactoring, or isn't going to work. A key message in the talk will be how to break the corporate cycle, test new ideas, and generate success or concede failure without investing millions of dollars.
