Java Coding Camp for High Schoolers
Description
Students learn to make their own video games while writing code in Java, the most widely used programming language in the world. The course covers important programming concepts, including classes & objects, data types, conditional statements and iteration. Students will create video games they can play with friends, allowing them to have fun and express creativity while they learn. By the end of the course, students will have a basic proficiency in writing code according to object-oriented principles and will understand the fundamental syntax of Java.
Computer Requirements: Students must have a Mac or a Windows PC (software will not run on a chromebook). We will use the software Greenfoot (download link for Greenfoot will be sent a week before class to student)
