Description
The ISACA Middle Tennessee Chapter would like to invite you to an IT Audit Team Building and Negotiation Skills training on November 14 & 15 in Brentwood at Formos Consulting. The link to the registration page is included below with all the details.
Event Description: As an auditor, success requires you to identify risks, draft compliance reports, and deliver high-quality outcomes for your stakeholders. Yet there's more to it than that. Your success also depends on your ability to work with multi-functional and diverse teams, navigate challenging and often unspoken personality conflicts, and creatively negotiate and champion the deliverables your organization requires. In short, you must be able to work with others who are sometimes hard to work with to accomplish your results.
In this two-day event, you'll learn how to better understand and influence others on your team and in your organization.
Day 1 - Working with Diverse Teams Why do some teams succeed while others flounder? How does one group of individuals come together with a common purpose, a shared set of values, and a communal desire for achieving a goal, while another group struggles with in-fighting, argues over direction, and grapples with purpose. In business, as in many sports, success depends on our ability to work effectively in small, and sometime diverse and multi-functional, teams. Learning to value our differing communication preferences, varying approaches to tasks and relationships, and distinctive perspectives can help us to leverage our unique contributions to enhance the effectiveness of the team. In this session, you'll learn to: * Quickly identify different personality styles and preferences * Effectively communicate through a tailored approach * Consistently build relationships based on trust and mutual understanding
Day 2 - Negotiating Successful Outcomes What comes to mind when you think of negotiations? The uneasy feeling you get when haggling with a used car salesman? The butterflies in your stomach when asking for a raise? The conflict that inevitably arises when two parties are at an impasse? But negotiations are not limited to those situations. In business, we negotiate timelines and deliverables, we negotiate when we need help from another team where we have no authority, and we negotiate for priority when there are competing goals and limited resources. At home we negotiate which movie to watch, which hobby to invest time and money in, and yes, we occasionally negotiate to buy a new car. In short, everyone negotiates every day. In this session, you'll learn how to: * Approach each negotiation feeling prepared and confident * Uncover what is really important to your negotiating counterpart * Use framing, anchoring, reciprocity, and mirroring to build a constructive relationship for negotiations No Prerequisites Required CPEs - up to 16 hrs of CPE will be issued to attendees
