Description
This two-day course presents participants with the complete IT audit process of a mock network. Sacamano Enterprises is a small health insurance claim processing company with 10 employees. Students should wear their “audit” hat to class but be prepared to see some of the IT tricks to help them in the process. Students will receive an overview of networking and Microsoft networks. They will also receive an overview of readily available tools that may be used to evaluate the company. Students will be presented with documentation from the company and allowed to evaluate the IT infrastructure and the controls in place during a live lab evaluation. Teams of students will then prepare findings and recommendations for presentation to the class. Finally, the instructors will present their evaluation of the Sacamano Enterprises IT maturity level, expose any finding that were not discovered by the teams, and allow the teams a final opportunity to get back on the company network to discover anything that was missed. Students wishing to participate in the hands-on lab environment should bring a laptop with wireless capabilities and a recent Windows operating system. All registered students will receive the documentation for the course on Monday, February 19, 2018. All late registration will be allowed to download the documentation the morning of the class. Ben Brady and Jason Duke bring over 50 years of combined IT and audit experience to the class, and they will provide numerous real-world scenarios that have been experienced in the field over their careers.
