The Value of Data: How OUC Leverages Data to Make Informed Decisions
The Value of Data: How OUC Leverages Data to Make Informed Decisions
The proliferation of large, complex data sets, commonly referred to as “Big Data,” makes it difficult for utility company managers, directors and senior managers to process data using traditional applications. One challenge for utilities is how to correlate the Big Data available into usable information in process improvement, business decision making, customer account management and predictive analytics. Orlando Utilities (“OUC”) is on the leading edge of utilizing data in applications and analytics for operations, billing, metering, sustainability, marketing and customer outreach.
Discussion will include how OUC leverages its data into low-cost, high-value initiatives, which helps the Company achieve high reliability and customer satisfaction.
About the Speaker:
Morgan Knezovich is a Business Intelligence Analyst at the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC – The Reliable One), the 16th largest public power utility in the United States. He is responsible for streamlining business processes, implement or improve the use of data throughout the organization and support management with key metrics needed to help the business adapt to an every changing world. He has spent that last 7 years as the primary analyst in charge of consumer data, market research and trend analysis related to all marketing and economic development projects. He was involved with the Customer Experience Initiatives, a series of projects focused specially on improving how customer interact with OUC, managing the individual project budgets and working with the Major Projects Delivery Team to assist in project coordination.
