Description
Recent changes to sales tax are impacting Tennessee businesses, especially for those who develop, sell and purchase software-as-a-service (SaaS). The Nashville Business Journal recently described the problem as one that can limit tech business growth in Nashville. Additionally, the state levies a tax on software development, which causes confusion as well.
The NTC has identified the confusion around tech-related sales tax as an issue that can be a barrier to our member companies. We are hosting a closed-door, NTC members-only conversation to encourage frank and open discussion of this important issue.
To help shape the discussion, we've invited local tax experts, including:
- Kristopher D. Miller, CPA | Director - Tax from Crosslin Certified Public Accountants
- Justin Stringfield, Senior Manager, US Indirect Tax - KPMG LLP
- Baylor Bone Swindell, Attorney and Lobbyist - Baylor Company
Please join us, bring your CFO and development staff for an important off-the-record discussion and information sharing session. By sharing your concerns, you help the NTC better advocate for Middle Tennessee's tech industry.
NOTE: This is a members only event. If your company is a member but you do not have a member log in account, please contact Alex Curtis.
